Hey,

A while ago, I lost a 43.000€ project.

Not because I was too expensive.
Because I was too cheap.

At least that’s what I thought afterwards.

At the time, my pricing felt completely reasonable.
I knew I could deliver the work.
I wasn’t guessing.
I wasn’t undercutting on purpose.

But something didn’t add up for the client.

And the way they reacted forced me to realize something uncomfortable about pricing at higher levels.

Because once you move into bigger budgets, price stops being just a number.
It becomes a signal.

A signal that can either build trust instantly…
or destroy it just as fast.

The mistake I made wasn’t obvious.
And that’s exactly why it’s dangerous.

Most freelancers are making the same mistake without realizing it.

I broke the full story down in a recent video, including what actually went wrong and how I changed my approach after that.

If pricing has ever felt like guesswork to you, this will probably shift how you think about it:

Tiny tactical tip:
Before sending your next quote, ask yourself: “What does this price signal about me?” Not to you, but to the client.
